Taxonomy
Notochlamys was named by Cotton (1930) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-m R]. It is extant. Its type is Chlamys anguinea.

It was synonymized subjectively with Mesopeplum by Cox et al. (1969).

It was assigned to Chlamydini by Beu and Darragh (2001); and to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002).
