Taxonomy
Guizhouspira was named by Wang (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: P Djhu P Dora Sepkoski's reference number: 797,1130 Wang in Wang & Xi 1980; Note: The original description gives G. gibbicircella as the type, but later papers give G. alticonica as the type. ].

It was synonymized subjectively with Baylea by Karapunar and Nützel (2022).

It was assigned to Omospirinae by Wang and Xi (1980); to Eotomariidae by Pan and Erwin (2002); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gosseletininae by Wagner (2023).
