Taxonomy
Modiomorpha mitchellae was named by Cook (1993). Its type specimen is JCUF 11823, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is L798. Paynes Lagoon Station, 200m south of Boundary Creek., which is in a Givetian marine siltstone in the Burdekin Formation of Australia.
