Taxonomy
Arca minuta was named by Müller (1776) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant. Its type locality is Col Rodella, Campitello (Muschelkalk Fm.), which is in an Anisian carbonate limestone in Italy.

It was recombined as Leda minuta by Müller (1776); it was recombined as Nuculana minuta by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Nuculana (Nuculana) minuta by Moore (1983), Hendy (2020) and Hendy (2021).
