Taxonomy
Nucula lenticula was named by Möller (1842) [DISTRIBUTION: Massachusetts (Recent); Ontario-New Jersey (Pleistocene)]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Yoldia (Yoldiella) lenticula by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Yoldiella lenticula by Hendy et al. (2008).
