Taxonomy
Oxydiscus (Cyrtodiscus) nitidus was named by Perner (1903) [Oxydiscus (Cyrtodiscus) nitidus Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is not extant. It is the type species of Gamadiscus.

It was recombined as Gamadiscus nitidus by Horný (1962), Horný (1963) and Horný (1996); it was recombined as Cyrtodiscus nitidus by Horný (1997) and Wagner (2023).
