Horiostomella was named by Perner (1903) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l S Ludl Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Sinuopeinae by Knight et al. (1960); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
