Pyrene (Eurypyrene) eurynotum was named by Woodring (1928) [TYPE LOCALITY: Bowden, Jamaica; Bowden Fm (Pliocene).]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Eurypyrene eurynotum by Jung (1994).
