Metulella fusiformis was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. It is not a trace fossil.

Synonyms
  • Metulella williamgabbi was named by Maury (1917) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. Its type specimen is Holotype (no number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Metulella fusiformis by Jung (1994).
