Euspira antarctidia was named by Stilwell et al. (2004) [TYPE LOCALITY: Seymour Island, Antarctica; Sobral Fm (Early Paleocene, Danian).]. Its type specimen is USNM 511864 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Locality 1538 - Sobral Fm, Seymour Island, which is in a Danian offshore sandstone in the Sobral Formation of Antarctica.
