Pyropsis australis
Taxonomy
Pyropsis australis was named by Stilwell et al. (2004) [TYPE LOCALITY: Seymour Island, Antarctica; Sobral Fm (Early Paleocene, Danian)]. Its type specimen is USNM 511872 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Locality 1104 - Sobral Fm, Seymour Island, which is in a Danian offshore sandstone in the Sobral Formation of Antarctica. It is the type species of Tudicla (Pyropsis).
