Apulosauripus federicianus
Taxonomy
Apulosauripus federicianus was named by Nicosia et al. (1999). Its type specimen is ACDL 99/3, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Cava De Lucia, Altamura, which is in a Santonian offshore shelf sandstone in the Calcare de Altamura Formation of Italy.
It was corrected as Apulosauripus fredericianus by Dalla Vecchia (2009); it was misspelled as Apulosauripus fredericianus by Dalla Vecchia (2014), Díaz-Martínez et al. (2015) and Carrano (2025).
