Taxonomy
Calyptraea crepidularis was named by Lamarck (1802). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grignon (Lamarck collection), which is in a Lutetian open shallow subtidal sandstone/sandstone in France.

It was recombined as Crepidula crepidularis by Hoagland (1977); it was recombined as Calyptraea (Turbocalyptraea) crepidularis by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
