Taxonomy
Neilsonia was named by Thomas (1940) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-l P Sakm Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. Its type is Neilsonia roscobiensis. It is the type genus of Neilsoniinae.
It was assigned to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Neilsoniinae by Knight et al. (1960) and Bouchet et al. (2005); and to Eotomariidae by Mazaev (2015).
