Cancellaria oregonensis was named by Conrad (1865) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Eocene; North Pacific.]. Its type specimen is USNM 3554, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Cancellaria (Euclia) oregonensis by Moore (1963) and Addicott (1970).
