Pagodea was named by Perner (1903) [Sepkoski's age data: D Sieg D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 362,797]. It is not extant. Its type is Pagodea concomitans.

It was assigned to Microdomatidae by Knight et al. (1960); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pseudophoridae by Wagner (2023).
