B. Engesser 1980An eine grabende Lebensweise angepasste Talpiden mit Desmaninae-ähnlichen oberen Molaren: Mesostyl stark gespalten, Metaconulus kräftig entwikkelt. Protoconus von M1 und M2 weit vorne liegend, M3 wenig recuziert. Untere Molaren mit kurzer, niedriger, nicht am Trigonid-Hinterabhang hochziehender Crista obliqua: p2 und p3 sehr klein. p4 mit voluminösem Haupthügel und kräftigem, deutlich abgegliedertem Innenhügel. Vorder- und Labialcingulum des p4 swach entwickelt, ohne eigenlichen Vorderhügel (Parastyl-Analogon). p3 und p4 ohne Lingualcingulum. Foramen mentale unterhalb p3. Humerus Scaptonyx-ähnlich, mässig verbreitert mit langer teres-Kante, Caput elliptisch, annährend senkrecht zur Längsachse stehend; bicipitalis-Grube ausgeprägt.
