Taxonomy
Lucina cristata was named by Récluz (1842) [DISTRIBUTION: USA: North Carolina, Florida: East Florida, West Florida, Florida Keys; Mexico: Quintana Roo; MAX. SIZE: 37 mm.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Tellidora cristata by Olsson (1922), Woodring (1982) and Rosenberg (2005).
