Taxonomy
Myomimus aquatilis was named by de Bruijn and Moltzer (1974). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IVAU RM 219, M1,2 sup. dext., a set of teeth. Its type locality is Rubielos de Mora 2, which is in a MN 3 terrestrial horizon in Spain.
It was recombined as Peridyromys aquatilis by Daams and de Bruijn (1995).
