Pollia cancellaria was named by Conrad (1846). It is extant.

It was recombined as Cantharus cancellata by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Cantharus cancellaria by Miller (1983); it was recombined as Cantharus cancellarius by Spencer and Campbell (1987); it was recombined as Cantharus cancellatus by Portell et al. (1992); it was recombined as Solenosteira cancellaria by Rosenberg (2005).
