Taxonomy
Phos elegans was named by Guppy (1866) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cantharus elegans by Olsson (1942); it was recombined as Antillophos elegans by Hendy et al. (2008).
