Sarcodon pygmaeus
Taxonomy
Sarcodon pygmaeus was named by Matthew and Granger (1925) [based on left M1/]. Its type specimen is AMNH 20427, a tooth (Upper molar), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gashato (AMNH), which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Khashat Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Sarcodon.
