Taxonomy
Murchisonia angustata was named by Hall (1847). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Hormotoma angustata by Sloan and Webers (1987); it was recombined as Hormotoma angustatus by Wagner (2020); it was recombined as Hormotoma gracilis angustatus by Ulrich and Scofield (1897), Foerste (1924) and Wagner (2023).
