Ptychospirina was named by Perner (1907) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ludl-u D Give Sepkoski's reference number: 362,1197]. It is not extant. Its type is Ptychospira senaria.

It was assigned to Platyceratidae by Knight et al. (1960); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
