Nerita radula was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene-Recent; west Pacific.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Neritopsis (Neritopsis) radula by Ladd (1966); it was recombined as Neritopsis radula by Ladd (1934) and Rosenberg et al. (2006).
