Taxonomy
Desmana pontica vinea was named by Storch (1978). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SMF 75/1260, a mandible (Fragment mandible with p1,p2,p4.m1 and m2).

It was recombined as Dibolia vinea by Rümke (1985); it was recombined as Archaeodesmana vinea by Hutterer (1995) and Martín-Suárez et al. (2001).

C. G. Rümke 1985the mean lnegth of the p2 is about 1.45 mm, the mean length of the p3 is about 1.14 mm, the mean length of the p4 is about 1.63 mm; the p2/p3 ratio is about 1.27 mm. The p1 is double-rooted. The mean length of the P2 is about 1.51 mm, the mean length of the P3 is about 1.26 ,,; the P2/P3 ratio is about 1.20.
