Taxonomy
Epimayaites was named by Spath (1928) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Stephanoceras transiens.

It was assigned to Mayaitidae by Arkell et al. (1957) and Helmstaedt (1969); to Ammonoidea by Thomson (1982) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Mayaitinae by Alberti et al. (2015).
