Sisenna was named by Koken (1896) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis J Plie-u Sepkoski's reference number: 615,661]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Pleurotomaria (Sisenna) by Trechmann (1918).

It was assigned to Pleurotomaria by Trechmann (1918); to Omospirinae by Knight et al. (1960); to Raphistomatidae by Szabo (1980); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Pleurotomariidae by Wagner (2017); and to Gosseletinidae by Nützel et al. (2018).
