Taxonomy
Erinaceus samsonowiczi was named by Sulimski (1959). It is not extant. Its type specimen is ME Warsaw no. 1051, a mandible (Mandible sin. fragment with p3-m3). Its type locality is Węże, which is in a MN 15 cave breccia in Poland.
