Taxonomy
Marginella (Persicula) progravida was named by Gardner (1947). Its type specimen is USNM 371411, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 7148 - Gastopod Gulch [Oak Grove Sand], which is in a Burdigalian marine sandstone in the Oak Grove Formation of Georgia.
