Urotrichus dolichochir

Taxonomy
Scaptonyx dolichochir was named by Gaillard (1899) [Registrationnumber is mentioned in Hutchinson, 1974]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is UCBL FSL 69015, a limb element (Humerus sin.).

It was recombined as Urotrichus dolichochir by Hutchinson (1974).

Hutchinson 1974Small mole (humerus 7,0-7,5 mm long), shaft nearly straight, distal and proximal widths subequal (excluding epiconylar alae), teres tubercle termibates distally about one-half way down shaft, teres tubercle and pectoral crest separated by wide notch, supratrochlea fossa large and pocketed, head angled about 20degrees away from shaft, platform for origin of triceps lateralis profundus narrow and above level of head.
