Glycymeris flammeus was named by Reeve (1843) [m. kosnik taxon no: 7417]. It is extant.
It was synonymized subjectively with Glycymeris (Veletuceta) grayana by Lamprell and Whitehead (1992); it was recombined as Veletuceta flammeus by Beu (2006).
