Taxonomy
Pectunculus nuculatus was named by Lamarck (1807) [TYPE LOCALITY: Eocene, Paris Basin]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Glycymeris.

It was recombined as Cnisma nuculatus by Mayer (1868).
