Tychonia was named by de Koninck (1881) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise Sepkoski's reference number: 615]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Anomphalidae by Knight et al. (1960); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
