Pseudomalaxis (Extractrix) was named by Korobkov (1955) [TAXONOMIC COMMENTS: Originally placed in Pseuomalaxis (Architectonicidae) by Boettger, type species from Miocene of Romania. Placed in Cancellariidae with some uncertainty by Olsson (1967). Largely a form taxon. Type was lost by Cossmann during World War I.].

It was Trigonostoma (Extractrix) by Olsson (1967) and Todd (2001).

It was assigned to Pseudomalaxis by Korobkov (1955); and to Trigonostoma by Olsson (1967) and Todd (2001).
