Taxonomy
Venericardia bulla was named by Dall (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: Midway Group; Texas]. Its type specimen is USNM 164556, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Venericardia (Baluchicardia) bulla by Heaslip (1968).
