Venericardia greggiana was named by Dall (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: "Eocene"; Alabama]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Venericardia (Venericor) greggiana by Gardner and Bowles (1939); it was recombined as Venericardia (Baluchicardia) greggiana by Heaslip (1968).
