Eulima nobilis was named by Guppy (1896) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; circum-Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is USNM 107071, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Melanella (Eulima) nobilis by Maury (1917).
