Taxonomy
Ostrea miguelensis was named by Hertlein (1928) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Miocene; California.]. Its type specimen is CAS 4121, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Acutostrea miguelensis by Moore (1987).
