It was assigned to Globulariinae by Woodring (1957); to Ampullospirinae by Marincovich (1977); to Ampullinidae by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Naticidae by Abbass (1967) and Squires (2001); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
