Bulla striata was named by Bruguiére (1792) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Florida-Mexico, circum-Caribbean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Bullaria striata by Woodring et al. (1924) and Hanna (1926).
