It was reranked as Amplogladius by Sepkoski (2002), Pacaud (2008) and Pacaud et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Tibia by Cossmann (1889), Abbass (1967), Adegoke (1977) and Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rostellariidae by Pacaud (2008) and Pacaud et al. (2011).

Pacaud et al. 2011Taille très grande; forme comprimée, latéralement gibbeuse, fusoïde dans son ensemble; spire relativement courte, à galbe à peu près conique; tours nombreux, d’abord anguleux, puis plans et lisses, séparés par des sutures linéaires; dernier tour égal aux deux tiers environ de la hauteur totale, portant une gibbosité ovale et mal limitée, du côté opposé à l’aile, de sorte que son diamètre transversal est très supérieur à son diamètre dorso-ventral; base convexe ou déclive, à peine excavée sous le cou. Ouverture fusoïde, rétrécie en arrière, où elle se termine par une gouttière comprise entre une protubérance de la callosité columellaire et un prolongement recourbé du labre qui ne descend même pas jusqu’à la suture inférieure de l’avant-dernier tour; rostre long et droit, à peine incurvé; columelle peu excavée en arrière, rectiligne le long du rostre; bord columellaire calleux, surtout sur la région pariétale, bien limité, non étalé sur la base; pli pariétal obtus, arrondi en spirale à l’intérieur de l’ouverture.
