Taxonomy
Andangularia was named by Haas (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. Its type is Pseudoscalites subarmatus. It is the type genus of Andangulariinae.

It was assigned to Purpurinidae by McRoberts and Blodgett (2000); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Andangulariinae by Nützel and Erwin (2004).
