Eccyliopterus regularis was named by Remelé (1888). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ecculiomphalus regularis by Yochelson (1963) and Rohr (1980).

sinus curving strongly adaperturally. Prosocyrt growth lines on whorl change abruptly to opisthocyrt growth lines at base of peripheral band. Peripheral band developed as high vertical to
slightly outward inclined frill, where growth lines curve markedly adaperturally and adapically.
