Tellina texana was named by Dall (1900) [DISTRIBUTION: Plesitocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Angulus texanus by Hendy et al. (2008).

    It was recombined as Tellina (Moerella) sayi by Gardner (1943); it was synonymized subjectively with Angulus texanus by Hendy et al. (2008).
