Taxonomy
Bos bubaloides was named by Arambourg (1979). Its type specimen is No. 1952-9:1, a partial skull (horn fragment), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aïn Hanech, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Algeria.
