Straparollus (Euomphalus) serratus was named by Knight (1934) [Straparollus (Euomphalus) serratus Knight 1934a]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Euomphalus serratus by Kues and Batten (2001) and Wagner (2023).
