Natica pusilla was named by Say (1822) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene-Recent; Massachusetts-circum-Caribbean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Natica (Cryptonatica) pusilla by Dall (1892); it was recombined as Tectonatica pusilla by Woodring (1928) and Hendy et al. (2008).
