Taxonomy
Amaura guppyi was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene-Early Pliocene; circum-Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 2881, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ampullina guppyi by Dall (1906); it was recombined as Amauropsis guppyi by Maury (1917); it was recombined as Pachycrommium guppyi by Woodring (1928), Barrios (1960), Majima (1989) and Pacaud and Ledon (2014).
