Straparollus (Euomphalus) subquadratus was named by Meek and Worthen (1870). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Euomphalus subquadratus by White (1891); it was recombined as Straparollus subquadratus by Keyes (1894); it was recombined as Amphiscapha subquadrata by Wagner (2023).
